Arepas de Choclo are fried corn cakes made of ground fresh corn kernels, sugar and butter topped with Queso fresco or white cheese. Shelling fresh ears of corn is said to give a creamier consistency. Choclo, also called Peruvian corn or Cuzco corn, is a large-kernel variety of corn from the Andes. The Venezuelan Arepa Telita are thinner than the Columbian Arepa de Choclo. - AsNotedIn
