Rosenwald Schools in Virginia MPS



Rosenwald schools were constructed throughout the rural American South to educate African-Americans. Funded by Sears, Roebuck and Co President Julius Rosenwald, about 5000 schools were built from 1917 to 1932 and included 364 in Virginia. - AsNotedIn
