Canton Runs Hot and Cold

Canton is a very small city in central Kansas. The McPherson County town has been the location of the McPherson County Fairgrounds since 1948. Canton has two water towers, one marked in red "HOT" and other in blue "COLD". Painted as a promotional attraction in 1956 at the recommendation of local real estate agent Mrs MD Fisher, the water in the tanks are neither heated nor chilled, except by the weather. Other towns in the United States with water towers decorated HOT and COLD include Granger, Iowa and St James, Missouri. - AsNotedIn
