This 1880 guilded Kamehameha Statue is actually the second casting. When the original Kamehameha Statue was shipped from Italy, it sank when the ship carrying it was lost off the Falklands Islands. After recovery, the second was placed in Kapa'au, the island of Hawaii. - AsNotedIn
