Founded on the east side of the Wapsipinicon River, Independence is a small city in and the county seat of Buchanan County, in eastern Iowa. The six-story Wapsipinicon Mill is owned by the Buchanan County Historical Society and is open mid-May through mid-September. - AsNotedIn
