Magnificently Restored Sanctuary

Blowing Rocks Preserve is a restored coastal sanctuary on Jupiter Island in Hobe Sound, Martin County, Florida. Owned by The Nature Conservancy, Blowing Rocks Preserve protects a large Anastasia limestone outcropping. During extreme high tides and after winter storms, ocean waves crash through holes in the rock creating plumes of water. The 73 acres of reclaimed environmental was created by removing thousands of non-native plants - including 4,000 invasive Australian pines - and is home to loggerhead, green and leatherback sea turtles. - AsNotedIn
