Operakallaren
Operakallaren's name dates back to 1787 when the restaurant was situated in the cellar under Gustav III's opera house. History permeates the atmosphere in this heritage property, a house filled with opportunities, with its four restaurants, cocktail bar, wine cellar and function rooms.
Many find Operakallaren's Main Dining Room to be one of Sweden's most beautiful with its original interior of wall paintings, gilded oak panels, suspended panel ceiling and impressive chandeliers. With the addition of large mirrors, new furniture and fixtures, it has been transformed into a modern restaurant.
The Main Dining Room serves international haute cuisine, signed by Stefano Catenacci. Operakallaren has been honored with a star and five red 'Couvert symbols', crossed forks and spoons, in Guide Michelin, and a membership in the prestigious association of restaurants "Les Grandes Tables du Monde Traditions & Qualite".
The Opera Bar, next to Cafe Opera, opened in 1905. Its interior is a mixture of Art Nouveau and an aristocratic gentlemen's club. The Opera Bar has been and still is the meeting place for all kinds of people, a classic hangout for more than 100 years. Artists and intellectuals mix with business people who come to the Opera Bar for lunch, dinner, or perhaps just a beer and a chance to relish the cultural ambiance and enjoy the view over the Royal park Kungstradgarden.
Adjacent to the Opera Bar is the popular Bakfickan, "The Hip Pocket", a small and intimate counter restaurant.
Operakallaren is a cash-free restaurant. Thank you for making the workplace safer.
