Ecola State Park

  • Type: Place

the grandest and most pleasing prospects which my eyes ever surveyed William Clark

Ecola State Park is 9 miles of protected Oregon coastline located about 80 miles (128 km) northwest of Portland. The park offers such forested promontories as Tillamook Head, an abandoned island lighthouse and wildlife viewing. Indian Beach is a sandy cove with tide pools and surfing. Hiking trails include the 2 and a half mile historical interpretive Clatsop Loop Trail and 8 miles of the Oregon Coast Trail. A picture perfect view can be seen from the grassy bluff over the Pacific Ocean looking south along the shore at the sea stacks. - AsNotedIn
