1903/12/10 W A and E A Wells General Contractor The Belvedere Hotels opens.
1905/06/10 Henry James Visitor James arrives at The Belvedere by horse-drawn cab. "I alighted at a large fresh peaceful hostelry, imposingly modern yet quietly affable, and, having recognized the deep, soft general note, even from my windows, as that of a kind of mollified vivacity..."
1912/07/00 Woodrow Wilson Candidate Woodrow Wilson stays at the Belvedere while attending the Democratic National Convention in Baltimore.
1921/04/17 Winifred Reed Tredwell Guest Winifred Tredwell takes a train to Baltimore and checks in at the Belvedere Hotel, giving her name as Royal Traveler from Frankfort, Kentucky.
1921/04/18 Winifred Reed Tredwell Health Winifred Tredwell is found lying on her bed, clearly very ill. She is taken to Maryland Women's Hospital where she confesses to ingest 126 tablets of bichloride of mercury.
1933/07/00 F Scott Fitzgerald Critic After the premiere of Scandalabra, a play by Zelda and performed by the Vagabond Players, Scott Fitzgerald gathers the cast in the Green Room of the Hotel Belvedere and reads each line aloud. Each line is critiqued until the script is abandoned.
1936/12/22 F Scott Fitzgerald Life During the Christmas holidays, Scott throws his daughter Frances "Scottie" a party on the 22nd floor of the Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore. Scott drinks too much, acts silly, totters around and insist on dancing with some of the girls.
2006/05/24 The body of Rey Rivera is discovered inside the Belvedere building. He had jumped off the main roof of the Belvedere and landed in the south wing. His death has been the focus of much public speculation.
