A 96-acre Mills Cross Telescope-style radio antenna array is erected in Seneca by the Carnegie Institution of Washington. The array is made of two 2047 ft arms, each with 66 dipole antennas on unpainted wooden poles, connected 5 miles (8.0 km) of wire.
