1897/00/00 803 S Main Street is built of rough-cut stone probably shortly after Kemmerer's founding in 1897. The facade features polished marble facing along its base, and a cast iron front on the first story which is decorated with rosettes and scrollwork.
1904/08/01 James Cash Penney Owner J C Penney moves his Golden Rule Store into the left side of 803 S Main Street, occupying the entire 25-by-140-foot first floor in this section.
