1225/00/00 Parish church of Saint-Jacques (lost) is built in the Gothic style on the current Place Carnot, Douai. The building was rebuilt during the 17th century, decommissioned during the Revolution, then sold and demolished in 1797.
1580/11/10 Lady Anne of Lens, wife of Lord Adrien de Dion of the said place Wandosme passes away. The reliquary of Anne d'Aix containing an embalmed heart was found during excavations at the first Saint-Jacques church site on Place Carnot in 2007.
1642/01/21 Matthew Kellison, President of the English College in Douai, dies. Kellison's remains were discovered and removed during archaeological excavations at the first Saint-Jacques church site on Place Carnot in 2007.
1706/00/00 A monastic chapel, the current church of Saint-Jacques, is built.
1854/00/00 The old monastic chapel becomes Saint-Jacques church and is enlarged under the direction of diocesan architect Alexandre Grigny, 1852-1854.
1880/00/00 A parish family donates a Grand-Orgue organ built by Pierre Schyven. The musical instrument consists of 3 keyboards, 1 pedalboard and 44 stops and about 2700 pipes.

2012/00/00 St James the Great In Memoriam A relic, an eyebrow arch of Saint James the Great, is discovered in the Saint-Jacques church in Douai, recently closed due to structural instability. The relic is moved to the Saint-Pierre Collegiate Church.
