1779/00/00 On Island Road, one of the earliest wagon trails in the United States, a residence is built for James Hollis Sr, an early pioneer in the region.
1780/05/00 David Looney Justice of the Peace Sullivan County government's second meeting takes place at the home of James Hollis Sr, he was not there.
1782/00/00 John Yancey buys the Hollis residence and turns it into a tavern and inn.
1787/00/00 The Sullivan County Court, similar to the present day county commissioners, met at Yancey Tavern until some time in 1787.
1802/00/00 John Shaver buys Yancey's Tavern. It became a major stop along a stagecoach line halfway between Deery Inn and Netherland Inn. By 1840, it was known as Shaver's Inn.
1842/00/00 John Shaver opens Eden's Ridge Post Office, operating it until 1866.
1889/00/00 John R Spahr buys Shaver's Inn with 230 acres and the inn became the residence for his farm.
