1867/00/00 The National Safe Deposit Co is formed by a special act of Congress to store the valuables of DC's residents. They safeguarded boxes and trunks of jewelry, silverware and other items in the Plant Building located at the corner of the present site.
1888/00/00 James H Windrim Architect Designed by James H Windrim, the National Savings and Trust Company is built in the Queen Anne Style of red brick, and embellished with copper and terra cotta.
1890/00/00 Do to legislation that allowed only those institutions chartered by the Trust Act to do trust business in DC, the National Safe Deposit Co and the National Savings Bank of Washington are consolidated into the National Safe Deposit, Savings and Trust Co.
