1638/03/29 Under the command of Peter Minuit, the former director of the New Netherland colony, Swedish colonist arrive in Delaware Bay aboard the ships KALMAR NYCKEL and FOGEL GRIP.
1638/04/00 Finnish and Swedish colonist introduce horizontal log buildings in the colony of New Sweden on the upper shores of Delaware Bay. The practice will later pass to Welsh settlers in Pennsylvania.
