1861/00/00 H B Courtney and William H Swift produced Diamond State Parlor Matches. These are called Parlor matches because they are safe to use indoors.
1870/05/00 Anson Beecher Work "Swift and Courtney" merges with the "A Beecher and Sons" match company of Westville, Connecticut to become "Swift and Courtney and Beecher".
