1834/00/00 American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions Vocation The Wai'oli Mission is established by American Missionaries. A pole and thatch meetinghouse was constructed by Hawaiians on the Mission Hall site, in anticipation of the arrival of the missionaries.
1834/00/00 William Patterson Alexander Vocation William and Mary Alexander, the first missionaries to Hanalei, arrive by double canoe from the Waimea Mission. Over the next 9 years, Mr Alexander, assisted by George Rowell and Edward Johnson, will carry the Gospel to persons along the Northern coast.
1834/00/00 Abner Wilcox Vocation The Wilcox family relocates to teach at the Wai'oli Mission, Hanalei, Hawaii.
1841/00/00 Following the destruction of two earlier buildings by fire and wind, the congregations complete the timber frame and plaster Mission Hall in 1841. The lime for the plaster was made from coral which was dug at low tide.
1921/00/00 Hart Wood Architect The Wilcox descendants fund the restoration of the Mission Hall.
