1831/03/23 James Phinney Baxter Born Sarah Cone Baxter, wife of Dr Elihu Baxter, gives birth to a son, James Phinney Baxter, at home in Gorham, Maine.
1870/00/00 After Dr Baxter dies the house is occupied for several years by Dr Nelson Howard Cary and family. Annie Louise Gary, the noted singer is his daughter.
1907/00/00 James Phinney Baxter Home James Phinney Baxter, son of Ellhu, later buys his former home and has it moved onto a new foundation about twenty feet back from its original location. This is to provide a more comfortable setback and, if anything, improved the ambiance of the property.
1908/00/00 Percival P Baxter Home Percival P Baxter lives at the old family residence.
1908/09/23 James Phinney Baxter Benefactor James P Baxter donates the Baxter House to the Town of Gorham as a museum in honor of his father Dr Elihu Baxter.
