1779/00/00 Jean Baptiste Point Du Sable Significant name By 1779, Du Sable builds the first permanent home on the north bank of the Chicago River. He also built a trading post. Trappers were well paid for their fur pelts and Du Sable sold them supplies and tools.
1800/05/07 John Kinzie Home Point du Sable sells his property to John Kinzie for $1200 and moves to the Missouri River valley.
