Woodson's Mill is open to the public on the first Saturday of each month, beginning May. Open from 10AM until 4PM, if you can't make it to the Mill during their products are available at regional retailers and online. 1794/00/00 Woodson's Mill original four-story, 32 foot square building is built for Guiliford Campbell.
1840/00/00 The Fulchers improved Piney River Mill in the 1840's, adding the two runs (mill stones), which are still in use today.
1863/08/00 Nathan C Taliaferro Owner Nathan C Taliaferro buys Piney River Mill.
1875/10/00 Nathan C Taliaferro Seller Mr Taliaferro obtains the position of Storekeeper and General Merchant for the Penitentiary of Virginia, sells his properties in the Lowesville area and moves to Richmond.
1900/00/00 Dr Julian B Woodson expands Piney River Mill into a thriving enterprise that includes an icehouse, sawmill and foundry while maintaining his duties as a medical doctor and State Senator.
2001/00/00 J Gill Brockenbrough Jr buys Woodsons Mill in the early 1980's, restores it and lives here until his death in 2001.
