1906/00/00 A group of deaf worshipers meet monthly at St Philip's Episcopal Church on Main Street for Bible study conducted in sign language by Rev Sidney S Bost. Bost and Rev Roma C Fortune will successfully spearhead the drive to build a church for the deaf.
1930/00/00 George Watts Carr Architect Ephphatha Church is a built in the Gothic Revival style. The small, one-story, brick structure is said to be the first formal church in the South and one of only four churches in the nation built exclusively for a deaf congregation.
