1858/00/00 The second Capitol (lost) is built 1857-1858 at 124 N 20th St. The Colorado Red Sandstone flagstones used in Lincoln Monument and the interior courtyards of the Capitol were originally used as sidewalks around the second Capitol.
1909/06/00 Daniel Chester French Sculptor Daniel Chester French receives the commission to produce a Lincoln statue for the Nebraska State Capitol.
1912/00/00 Henry Bacon Architect Daniel French collaborates with Henry Bacon on the Lincoln Monument on the West Plaza. The pedestal is flanked by eagles and surrounded by an open granite enclosure with bronze lamps.
1922/00/00 Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue Architect After winning a nationwide design competition in 1920, by New York Architect Bertram Goodhue's Nebraska State Capitol (3rd to be erected on this site) is built in 4 phases over 10 years, 1922-1932.
1932/00/00 Hildreth Meiere Tile and Mosaic Designer Built over 10 years, the Nebraska State Capitol building is finished with sculptures by Lee Lawrie and tile and mosaic by Hildreth Meiere. Hartley B Alexander was the thematic consultant for inscription and symbolism.
