1688/00/00 The Gloucester County court licenses the first ferry of record between the Jersey and Pennsylvania shore of the Delaware River to William Royden.
1695/00/00 Daniel Cooper Owner The Gloucester County court transfers William Royden's seemingly fallow license to Daniel Cooper, who begins operating from the foot of what will become Cooper Street.
1765/00/00 Cooper Street is laid out as Middle Ferry Road.
1773/00/00 Jacob Cooper Architect On a portion of his land, Jacob Cooper lays out 'Camdentown', reputedly in honor of Charles Pratt, Lord Camden. Middle Ferry Road is renamed Cooper Street.
1929/00/00 The Finance Building is built at 549-559 Cooper St, as a two-story commercial building that offers stores and offices for rent. Listed on the NRHP, the Hunter-Shropshire, A B Gill building was razed.
