Creative Exploration of American Colonial

The New Brunswick Main Post Office is significant architecturally as an excellent example of Neo-Georgian design in a 1930's public building; artistically for its WPA lobby murals by George Biddle, an artist of importance both as a muralist and as the major force in the establishment of the WPA Federal Arts Project; and from a communications standpoint as the center of postal activities in the city of New Brunswick for the past half century of the city's 250-year postal history. - NRHP
