1830/00/00 Miners from Cornwall begin settling in Mineral Point and throughout the Upper Mississippi lead region, building small, limestone homes like ones they had known in England.
1836/00/00 Walker Hotel, Commerce St at the Railroad Station. Begun in 1836 as Mineral Point's first hotel. Constructed in three parts, the last of which was finished in 1860. Historic and prominent stone building.
1836/04/30 Henry Dodge is inaugurated at Mineral Point as the first Wisconsin territorial governor.
1839/00/00 Independent Order of Odd Fellows Parent Organization Odd Fellows Hall, Front Street at Vine. Wood, Greek Revival house built in 1839 by Iowa Lodge No 1. Reputed to be the oldest Odd Fellows hall west of the Alleghenies.
1846/00/00 Red brick Gothic Revival style Trinity Episcopal Church is built from 1839 to 1846.
1855/00/00 Cothren (Montgomery) House, Tower St, Local limestone house typical of fine Mineral Point stonework. Builder was a member of the Wisconsin Territorial Legislature, later a state senator, and for many years a prominent circuit judge.
1856/00/00 Cadwallader C Washburn Work Washburn and Woodman Bank, High St, 1856, Red brick with battlemented facade. Co-founder Cadwallader C Washburn, politician, soldier, entrepreneur. Influential in land and mining interests in Mineral Point area in the 1840's.
1857/00/00 Old Railway Station is built of native limestone in 1857 when railroad came to Mineral Point.
1860/00/00 Strong (Moses) House, 525 Fountain St, Greek Revival house built in two sections c 1850-1860. Excellent example of local stone work. Home of prominent pioneer lawyer, promoter and legislator of Wisconsin territorial and early statehood days.
