1852/00/00 Aaron A Sargent Home Aaron A Sargent builds a four room, one story house, at the top of Broad Street.
1856/10/00 Ellen Clark Sargent Home My good husband had before my arrival provided for me a one story house of four rooms including a good sized pantry where he had already stored a bag of flour, a couple of pumpkins and various other edibles ready for use. - ECS
1868/00/00 Local merchant, Abraham Goldsmith, buys the Sargent house. Staying until 1870, Goldsmith served as the County Treasurer and was first President of the Nevada County Jewish Benevolent Society.
1869/00/00 Ellen Clark Sargent Vocation Ellen Clark Sargent establishes the Nevada County Woman's Suffrage Association. Laura De Force Gordon and Susan B Anthony are guests in her home. Mr Sargent and Ellen became lifelong personal friends of Susan B Anthony. American Women's Suffrage
1870/00/00 Richard W Tully, President of the Bank of Nevada County, acquires the Goldsmith house. The Tully family will live here until 1879.
1877/05/07 Richard Walton Tully Jr is born the son of banker Richard W Tully Sr. Younge Tully, a future protege of Mrs Phoebe Hearst, will write the plays "The Bird of Paradise" and "The Rose of Rancho".
1879/00/00 Mrs Phoebe Kidd buys the Tully residence. Mrs Kidd is the widow of Captain George Washington Kidd, a Nevada City pioneer entrepreneur with water, mining and banking interests.
1889/00/00 J S Holbrook, a local postmaster, who held the office of Justice of the Peace for two terms, owns the Kidd residence from 1879 to 1889.
1891/00/00 Dr Carl Lewis Muller, the first native son of Nevada County to become a physician, buys the Holbrook House. His wife will be the owner of first automobile in Nevada City.
1900/00/00 Dr Muller's wife, a very vain, superficial woman, has to keep up with and surpass the Joneses. Dr Carl Muller indulges her every whim by adding on another room or embellishing the exterior as a surprise for his wife upon her return from a trip.
1923/00/00 Local optometrist and Mayor of Nevada City, R J Bennetts becomes owner. Local townspeople are astonished when he installs copper roof, thinking the sum of $500.00 is extravagant. He also establishes the formal garden.
