Gravois-Jefferson Streetcar Suburb Historic District is comprised of working class neighborhoods made possible by the development of St Louis streetcar lines. The district is noteworthy for its consistent architectural development and retention historical elements; red brick buildings on limestone foundations, granite curbs and original brick paving in alleys and on many interior streets.
