1907/00/00 The Whiffenpoofs Song Two of the Whiffenpoof's founding members create a humorous adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling poem, "Gentleman Rankers." After the song's premiere at Mory's, the singers declare it their anthem, to be sung at every meeting, reverently standing.
1909/01/00 The Whiffenpoofs Established Five of the Yale Glee Club's best singers begin to meet weekly at Mory's Temple Bar to escape the cold and improvise harmonies to the songs they loved so well. Louis Linder, the tavern's barkeep and a music aficionado, welcomes them in.
