High Bridge Trail State Park
High Bridge Trail is 31 mile long and generally flat bicycling, hiking and horseback riding trail. Midway along the finely crushed limestone former rail bed is the park's highlight, the 2,400 foot long (730m) High Bridge, originally built to carry Southside Railroad trains 125 feet high (38 m) over the Appomattox River. High Bridge, a Virginia Historic Landmark and a National Register of Historic Place listing, is the longest recreational bridge in Virginia and one of longest in the United States. - AsNotedIn
