Original built as a pair of town houses and offices of Clerks of the Parliaments, ,b>Number 7 Old Palace Yard is an Astylar Palladian style government building located across the street from the Palace of Westminster in London, England. One of the interior staircases in the Georgian era residence is original and retains 1750s turned balusters and column newel posts. The ground floor right room has mid C18 paneling with dado rail and marble fireplace with wooden ovolo molding and blank panel. The ground floor rear right room includes a late C18 marble fireplace with four-leaved square paterae. The front left room features a late C18 marble fireplace, cornice with triglyphs and medallions with 2 figures. The rear left room preserves a late C18 stone fireplace with fluted pilasters, triglyph frieze, panel depicting seated Britannia leaning against a lion and greeting heroic youth laden with baggage and three-masted ship in the background. - AsNotedIn
