1962/00/00 Bertrand Goldberg Architect Astor Tower Hotel opens as a luxury all-suite hotel decorated in French style custom-designed furnishings, paintings and textiles. The hotel featured exterior window louvers, that are operated from inside the room.
1963/12/14 The grand opening of "Maxim's de Paris" restaurant included a 1963 version of a dinner served in 1900 for King Edward VII of England. Closed in the 1980s, Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious Bustards" and Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" were filmed here.
