Highgate Cemetery is a north London burial ground in Highgate, London Borough of Camden. The over 53,000 graves are situated on both sides of Swain's Lane. The larger portion on the East Cemetery contains the graves of author of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Douglas, novelist Mary Ann Evans (George Eliot) and revolutionary socialist Karl Marx. The West Cemetery includes members of Charles Dickens' family (he is at Poet's Corner, Westminster Abbey) and the author of Cold Comfort Farm, Stella Gibbons. - AsNotedIn
