1829/00/00 Samuel Clarke Work Samuel Clarke builds a chemical factory (lost) where he sublimates calomel and manufactures lunar caustic, tartaric acid and other chemicals. Dr Clarke erects a dam on Cold Spring Brook to supply water for a mill he is building to grind drugs.
1830/00/00 A fire destroys the Clarke chemical works and mills soon after its begins operations. Since the insurance had just expired and, having invested most of his fortune, Samuel Clarke's loss is total.
1831/00/00 Rebecca Hull Clarke Owner After the death of Clarke, the factory site is sold to Rufus Brackett, who lives at the Obadiah Curtis house, for a morocco factory. Mrs Clarke sells the land south of Bullough's Pond to the town of Newton, now part of the Newton Cemetery.
1957/03/12 Josephine Hull Died Josephine Hull dies at aged 80 from a cerebral hemorrhage in The Bronx, New York City. Mrs Hull is buried in the Newton Cemetery in Newton, Massachusetts.
