1936/00/00 Lyle P Bartholomew Architect West Salem City Hall, designed as a small-scale version of Modernistic architecture by local architect Lyle Bartholomew and engineer Arthur E Horstkottee, is built under auspices of the Public Works Administration at the height of the Great Depression.
1989/06/20 Marv and Lois Sames buy the Old West Salem City Hall and begin renovations. After a feasibility study on restoration of the Old City Hall showed restoration of the building was too costly for public development, the city offered the property for sale.
