1760/00/00 Gwyn Careg Inn is built as a private residence for Mr William Osgood and it remained in the Osgood family for over 100 years.
1899/00/00 Boston heiress, Miss Eleanor Clark Murray, buys the 300 acre estate and develops the home into a Colonial Revival Mansion. Miss Murray begins major landscaping and gardens around the estate, requiring up to 25 full-time gardeners to maintain.
1937/00/00 Landscaped by architect William Jackson of NYC between 1899 and 1937. Features included a man-made lake, formal terraces in the Italian manner, a large walled Spanish garden and a superb collection of mature trees transplanted here.
