1900/07/00 Sinclair Lewis Work Harry Sinclair works behind the cigar counter at the Palmer House Hotel during a couple of summers. He will later used it as the model for the "Minniemashie House" in his novel Main Street, set in a town modeled on Sauk Centre. Main Street (book)
1901/00/00 The Palmer House is built for Ralph and Christena Palmer, who live on the premises with their two children. Intended for traveling salesmen arriving by rail, the Palmer House is the first building in Sauk Centre to have electricity.
