World's Most Unique Theatre

The Studio Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles, California, was a modern, air-conditioned, movie theater that offered an automated drinking fountain, self-serve concession vending machines, a bill changing machine and a whispering display cases which gave film information via prerecorded messages. A soda fountain operated at the front of the building which was open customer on the sidewalk. The straight forward design and modern concessions directly challenged the opulence of the movie palace. Although the experience was popular with patrons, the Hughes-Franklin Theater chain was a financial loser. - AsNotedIn
