1881/00/00 Edward Eisele, from Saulgau, Germany, is hired at the Phoenix Bakery, who's owner is also a German, at 7 Washington Street and Center streets.
1884/00/00 Edward Eisele buys the Phoenix Bakery for $300. The family business will operate for three generations.
1887/00/00 Ed Eisele convinces his best friend, pharmacist Alfred Becker, to partner with him in Phoenix Bakery.
1894/00/00 Ed Eisele bakes bread, cakes, cookies and pies in the morning and in the afternoon, he sells them door to door. Delivering first on foot, then by bicycle, Eisele has a fleet of seven horse-drawn carriages by 1894.
1910/00/00 The Phoenix Bakery begins using Model T cars to make deliveries. Introduction of the Ford Model T
1927/00/00 After the death of Edward Eisele, the Phoenix Bakery passes to his son, Lloyd, and Becker's son, Charles who both attended the University of Michigan.
