1892/00/00 Benjamin Harrison US President President Benjamin Harrison establishes the first prehistoric and cultural reserve in the United States, one square mile of Arizona Territory surrounding the Casa Grande Ruins.
1906/00/00 Under the direction of Jesse Fewkes of the Bureau of Ethnology, major excavations and repairs begin at Casa Grande. Completed in 1908, most of the lower walls visible today are uncovered at this time.
1932/12/12 Frederick Law Olmsted Jr Architect Frederick Law Olmsted's shelter is built. Designed in 1928, funding for the project was not appropriated until 1932. Its final cost was $27,724.12, which included $4,000 for engineering and design costs.
1937/00/00 Civilian Conservation Corps Architect Between 1937 and 1940, the Civilian Conservation Corps constructs adobe buildings to support park operations. These structures remain in use today and are now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
