Andrew Jackson Sr, one of the earliest Waxhaw settlers, dies as result of a logging accident in Waxhaw, Union, Province of North Carolina. Mr Jackson is buried in the Waxhaw Cemetery along with President Jackson's two brothers, Robert and Hugh. |

Continental soldiers wounded at "Buford's Massacre" are treated at Waxhaw Presbyterian Church while the dead are buried in unmarked graves. Tombstone markings show that 38 Revolutionary War soldiers and partisans are buried here. |

John Crockett dies at age 70 in Waxhaw, Lancaster, South Carolina. Born on a ship while crossing the Atlantic, his tombstone has a bas-relief carving of a sailing ship. John Crockett, born 12 Jul 1730, was the son of Robert Crockett and Margaret Davis. |

Robert Leckie builds a 7 ft high, 50 ft square grave enclosure of coursed stone for his family. The wall has no entrance but there protruding rocks set into the wall that serve as steps to allow one to the look over. The markers are part of the west wall. |
