1769/00/00 Construction on the St Stephen's begins in 1767 and is completed in 1769. Francis Villepontoux and A Howard provide the brick and act as architects, William Axson is the master mason. The initials of these men are cut into the brickwork.
1788/00/00 Incorporated in 1788, regular services at St Stephen were discontinued in 1808. Twice, the building was repaired during the C19 and thus saved from destruction. In 1932 the church was again reopened for regular worship.
1886/09/00 After the earthquake of 1886, iron rods are installed through each end, from front to back and from side to side, to shore up St Stephens' walls. 1886 Charleston Earthquake
