1875/08/05 According to the Daily Nevada State Journal, Jason C Smith builds one of the nicest dwelling houses in Washoe County. The home was built near S Virginia St and Peckham Ln, back when that was 5 miles south of Reno.
1887/00/00 John Sparks Home According to the Reno Evening Gazette, John Sparks buys Smith's plantation style mansion for $15,000 with 320 acres and without hay and livestock. At that time it was three miles outside Reno.
1895/00/00 John Sparks Cattleman In the mid 1890s, Sparks imports Hereford cattle from England. First of that breed brought into Nevada, they are now an important part of the state's large cattle industry.
1908/05/22 John Sparks Died During his second term in office, John Sparks dies at home.
1908/06/00 The estate is passed to a bank in Reno and is bought by Joe Miller, of Austin, who then sells the buildings and some acreage to Dr George H Thomas for $80,000.
1911/05/00 The Alamo is bought by William Henry Moffat, a cattle rancher known throughout the west for his Moffats Manteca Fed Beef.
1962/00/00 Lincoln Fitzgerald, a Reno casino and hotel owner and former mob figure in Detroit, buys The Alamo for $500,000.
1978/00/00 Raul and Leslie Hernandez buy the plantation style mansion and move it from Reno to the southwest corner of Steamboat Valley. Its former location is covered by the Atlantis parking lot.
2006/02/00 Maxine Woolman sells The Alamo to David and Angie Wood. Mr Wood, a former professional basketball player, play 16 years with European teams and the NBA. In 1988 he played alongside Michael Jordan for the Chicago Bulls. The Woods restored the mansion.
