1871/00/00 Daniel Appleton (NY National Guard) Military Daniel Appleton enlisted in the National Guard as a Private. He worked his way through the ranks to become Colonel and Commander of the New York Guard's Seventh Regiment in 1889.

1929/02/29 Daniel Appleton (NY National Guard) Died Daniel Appleton dies in White Plains. His funeral was held at the 7th Regiment Armory and was followed by a large parade through Manhattan of military members, veterans, and police officers, followed by a motorcade to his graveside service in Brooklyn.
