1908/11/29 UC Berkeley Library Work On Thanksgiving Day, the cornerstone for Doe Library is laid. In 1904, San Francisco lumberman and bibliophile, Charles Franklin Doe, bequeathed $779,000 for the construction. However, construction was delayed by the 1906 earthquake.
1911/00/00 John Galen Howard Architect Lobby and Loan Hall (north wing) of the Doe Memorial Library is completed.
1917/00/00 The Library of French Thought, a collection assembled for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, is given to Cal State by the French government, and opens in its own space in Doe Library. Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco
1928/00/00 Walter H Ratcliff Jr Architect Morrison Memorial Library reading room opens at Doe Library.
