Morris Wide Water Canal Boat Site
- Also Known As: 11GR205
- Address: East Washington St
Seven canal boat hulls were discovered under the I&M Canal after a severe thunder storm destroyed a third of the Channahon Dam on the DuPage River. The boat remains were found clustered in the "wide water" or "turning basin" of the canal where a boat could pull to the side to let other traffic pass. Of the hundreds of canal boats that once plied the waters between Chicago and LaSalle, these are all that remain. - AsNotedIn
