Leslie A Fitz House
- Also Known As: 161-3490-0162
- Address: 1014 Houston St
The Leslie A Fitz House, built in 1914, is a well-preserved Craftsman bungalow. From 1914 to 1922 it was the home of Leslie Arthur Fitz, a notable expert in milling science. In March 1910, Mr Fitz left the US Department of Agriculture to become a professor of Milling Industry at Kansas State Agricultural College (now Kansas State University). His course on milling, the manufacturing of grain products and experimental baking was a four course. Houston Street is also notable for retaining the original, handcrafted, native Cottonwood limestone curbstones that were installed in 1904. - AsNotedIn
