Vienna Basin sedimentary basin in the Pannonian Plain between the Alps and the Carpathians. The section within the Czech Republic is called Dolnomoravsky uval (Lower Morava Valley) and the area in Slovakia is called Borska nizina (Bor Lowland, part of the Zahorie region). Also inculded are the Chvojnice Hills (Chvojnicka pahorkatina) in Slovakia and Marchfeld (Moravske pole) in the Austrian state of Niederosterreich. - AsNotedIn
