Martha Coit White

Martha Coit White was born to John and Mary Jenners Coit, likely in either Salem or Gloucester, Massachusetts Bay Colony, as her family moved between the two towns. She married Hugh Mould at New London in the Connecticut Colony and raised a large family, including Susannah, Mary, Christian, Jane and Esther. After Mould's death, she married Capt Nathaniel White, creating the intertwined Coit-Mould-White household in which her daughter Susannah weds Nathaniel's son Daniel. Martha lived into her mid-eighties and was buried in the Old Burying Ground at Cromwell, Connecticut, where her stone identifies her as the "Relict to Capt Nathaniel," marking her long life within the early colonial communities of New London and Middletown. - AsNotedIn
