Kenneth Miller Adams was a Kansas-born artist whose career helped shape the modern artistic identity of northern New Mexico. Trained at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League in New York, and through further study in Woodstock, France, and Italy, Adams developed a contemporary realist style influenced by Andrew Dasburg and aligned with the mural and figurative traditions of Rivera and Orozco. He settled in Taos in 1924, becoming the youngest and final member of the Taos Society of Artists, and later taught at the University of New Mexico in both Taos and Albuquerque. A painter, muralist, lithographer, and widely exhibited artist, Adams is remembered for his realist landscapes and figure studies that reflect the region's evolving artistic culture. - AsNotedIn
