William D Ticknor and Company was an American bookseller founded by William D Ticknor in Boston, Massachusetts. From 1834 to 1849, the firm published more than 200 titles, nearly one fourth were poetry. Their catalogue also included works in medicine, education, juvenile, lectures and Baptist theological tracts. Mr Ticknor develop the business of publishing medical volumes from such notable Boston doctors as Henry Ingersoll Bowditch, Henry J Bigelow, John Jackson and John C Warren. - AsNotedIn
